Housekeeper

                                   


Requirements

  • ​Minimum 5 years experience as a Housekeeper in a high-end home
  • High-level cooking and cleaning skills
  • Fluent in English with a good spoken and written command of the language
  • Job references required
  • Valid South African driver’s license an advantage
  • Presentable and neat individual
  • Ideal age – between 30 and 40

Qualification, Remuneration & Employment Type

Tertiary qualifications in housekeeping and cooking are required.

Fixed Term Contract with three month’s probationary period.

Salary is negotiable based on exprerience.

Availability: Immediately

Responsibilities

 

1. Cleaning furniture, fixtures, and surfaces with the correct equipment and chemicals - sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and polish.

 

2. Bathrooms:

  • clean and sanitise toilets, showers, bathtubs, countertops, and sinks.
  • Check stock levels of all consumables and replace clean linens, toiletries, and other supplies when needed.

 

3. Bedrooms and living areas:

  • cleaning, tidying, and light organising of rooms and common living areas
  • Making beds and changing linens
  • Fluffing pillows
  • Drawing curtains/blinds/windows open and closed

 

4. Laundry:

  • emptying baskets and sorting laundry
  • Automatic or handwashing of clothes and other linen
  • Ironing, steaming, folding, and hanging clean clothes and other draperies

 

5. Kitchen:

  • Meal and menu planning
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Setting tables, serving meals and beverages
  • Clearing after service, washing dishes, drying, and packing away
  • Preparing and packing lunch when needed
  • Emptying trash and disposing of waste

 

6. General responsibilities:

  • Protect equipment, furniture art, and other valuables handle with care and make sure there are no defects
  • Notify homeowners of defects, damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Promote healthy living, healthy cooking, and safety in the residence
  • Washing windows inside the house
  • Monitor supplies and ordering more as needed
  • Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained
  • Taking telephone calls and relaying messages timeously
  • Assisting with social events and dinner parties
